Privacy Policy

Updated October 17, 2026.

Plugged In Referrals helps people request a connection with an independent electrical contractor for an EV charger installation. This policy explains what happens to information you give us.

Information we collect

When you submit a request, we collect the contact information and project details you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, property type, relationship to the property, installation timing, vehicle and charger details, the installation address, and any optional project notes. Our form and site may also record the submission time, source page, campaign information, IP address, and the consent choice and disclosure shown when you submitted.

Form usability information

We record page views, form starts, progress through the form, validation-error field names, and successful submissions to understand where the form is difficult to use. This uses a first-party session reference and campaign labels. Form-step tracking does not include the contact information, address, or project notes you type. Those details are sent when you submit your request. We keep temporary session information so you can navigate the form and recover answers after an error.

How we use it

We use your information to review the requested project, check location and project fit, contact you about your request, identify an available contractor, prevent spam or misuse, maintain records of communications and consent, and improve the service. We may contact you if we need more information or cannot identify a suitable provider.

Who receives it

If a match is available, we may share your request with one selected independent electrical contractor serving your area so that contractor can discuss this project with you. We do not circulate the same request to multiple contractors at once or sell it for unrelated consumer marketing. We also use providers that support forms, hosting, communications, customer records, lead routing, analytics, and security; they process data to provide those services. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users.

Calls, texts, and your choices

The request form explains any permission you give for us and a selected provider to contact you. You can decline to submit the form. You can reply STOP to opt out of text messages, use any opt-out offered in an email, or email us to ask that contact about your request stop. You may also request access, correction, or deletion of your information, subject to records we need to retain for legal or operational reasons.

Security and retention

We use reasonable measures to protect information. No online system is completely secure. We retain records as reasonably needed to handle a request, maintain consent and opt-out records, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable requirements.
